VISUAL DEFENCE INC.
(“VDI”)

AWARD OF CONTRACT BY THE CITY OF STOCKHOLM'S PUBLIC TRANSPORT COMPANY

Visual Defence (VDI), the provider of integrated IP solutions to the security and defence markets (LSE: VDI), is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by SL, the City of Stockholm’s Public Transport Company. The first stage of the initiative, valued in the millions of US Dollars, will begin immediately and will see VDI deliver an integrated Audio, Video and Alarm Management platform, operating within SL’s Transit environment. As an option, SL has the ability to extend the contract to 250 SL stations.

The highly sophisticated Audio, Video and Alarm Management platform will integrate key VDI solutions including the Virtual Matrix System (VMS), the Command and Control Centre (C3) and the Intercom Management System (IMS). The core solution will allow multiple ‘edge’ devices to communicate with the C3 via SL’s IP network architecture, allowing SL personnel to manage its large security infrastructure in an effective and efficient manner. The overall solution architecture will provide thousands of IP cameras along with a full management system for access to live and recorded video, full configuration/diagnostic tools, intelligent video analysis, alarm management of multiple subsystem inputs (i.e. GIS & SCADA), and an interface for the Intercom/“Help Phone” subsystem. The C3 offers one point of administration and control for these systems while integrating with various SL subsystems for Event/Alarm management.

The scope of this project includes numerous locations within SL’s Transit environment. Each location will be outfitted with IP cameras, network Digital Video Recorders (nDVRs), VDI’s IP Intercom and Virtual Matrix System (VMS) platforms, with the C3 providing the central infrastructure to manage and monitor these components and additional legacy systems.

Stuart Steinberg, Chief Corporate Officer, commented:

“Our expansion of solutions into Sweden highlights Visual Defence’s ability to offer unique solutions worldwide. We continue to focus efforts on the delivery of highly-complex, integrated solutions to enterprise clientele. The SL offering showcases Visual Defence’s ability to integrate numerous technologies over the network, managing these platforms through one user-friendly, intuitive application. Our goal is to create an efficient and effective solution for the monitoring and administration of SL’s operations, security and building management systems.”
