Under the terms of the contract, VisioWave's digital video equipment and Visual Defence's VMS management software will be deployed in the new terminal being built in Europe's largest and busiest airports as well as some of its current terminals.
"Thanks to a proven record of successful airports projects completed in Canada and Switzerland, VisioWave and Visual Defence have together achieved a good understanding of the technology and security challenges that airports are facing at present." declares Xavier Heusghem, VP of Marketing, VisioWave.
Oved Tal, CEO of Visual Defence said: "This is a tremendous affirmation of our technology and its ability for it to be chosen by one of the most prestigious airport authorities in Europe. We are delighted to be assisting in the modernisation of visual security at such an important site. We hope to win many more such contracts with the same airport authority."
Visual Defence provides solutions that enable digital audio-visual ("AV") data to be captured from a variety of sources, such as fixed or mobile cameras, microphones, infra-red sensors, access controls and burglar alarms and delivered to local or remote locations where it can be managed and monitored. The Company's solutions are primarily targeted at government establishments, the military, mass transport centres such as airports, seaports, underground trains and large commercial enterprises.
A key strength of the Visual Defence's systems is that they integrate with legacy analogue equipment, overcoming problems of compatibility and replacement costs that potential clients face in the process of migrating from analogue to digital technologies. In addition, the Company's digital AV technology platform enables the introduction of "next generation" security and surveillance applications such as face recognition, motion detection and real time distribution of images and other data to multiple sites.
