Visual Defence's Virtual Matrix System (VMS) provides a comprehensive digital video management solution to meet varying needs ranging from enterprise class (tens of thousands of video streams) requirements to medium and smaller operations. The architecture and design of the video solution provides the flexibility of a modular system with the ability to integrate multiple distributed video sources. The solution is fully scalable and provides layers of redundancy to meet the most demanding requirements while supporting legacy equipment to operate in hybrid and distributed networking environments.
Configuration Client is designed for the administrator, providing all the tools for central configuration and control for all video sources.
Configuration tools define and control global access rights, permissions and priority levels. Access to system resources can be defined at an individual level or as members of groups.
With a countless number of configuration options at your finger tips, changes can be applied in real-time; operators are not required to log-out.
System configuration includes device and resource management, automation through macros, triggered alarms, scheduling, including the definition of video recording and live view parameters, defining camera settings, titling, to video and network parameters (protocols, IP and port addressing).

SoftClient is designed with the operator in mind, providing an easy-to-use interface; the operator is able to view up to a maximum of 64 video streams simultaneously.
The integrated SoftKeyboard provides the operator with the convenience of controlling Pan, Tilt and Zoom cameras while contributing to an ergonomically correct work environment.

Operators can view live and recorded video or retrieve stored or archived video in various formats for review through an easy to use query tool all through a single graphical user interface. Playback is easily managed using the video playback control panel.
SoftClient also offers multi-linguistic capabilities to meet a growing global audience.
The Asset Tree provides a quick means to view all available resources (e.g., cameras, monitors, macros, and intercoms) which can be sorted by type and viewed in a 2 tiered hierarchy; plus the Asset Tree can be tailored to meet user specific requirements.
Video blocking is intrinsically linked through user and group permissions as another unique tool that offers the flexibility of meeting legal jurisdiction requirements; for example: laws addressing issues of privacy.
